Our Rabbi and Rebbetzin
Rabbi Avraham and his wife Chaya Mushka Weinstein together with their son, Mendel, serve as the directors of the Jewish Russian Community Centre (JRCC) of Concord.
Rabbi Avraham grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. His parents Rabbi Shmuel and Sara Weinstein were sent by the Rebbe to Pittsburgh in 1988 to facilitate Jewish life on Pittsburgh's college campuses.
Rabbi Avraham studied in Yeshiva in the US for 8 years, then continued studying at the Rabbinical College of America in Morristown NJ.
Chaya Mushka Weinstein (nee Lezak), was born in Los Angeles, CA where her parents, Efraim and Yocheved Lezak, are pillars of the LA community and an inspiration to all.
Chaya Mushka studied in seminary in Tzfat, Israel for 2 years and later taught in the Chabad School in LA.
Mendel Weinstein is the real star of the show. There is no one that this little boy cannot bring a smile to. Although Mendel hasn't even learned to speak, it is his charm and smile that creates so many new friends.
In the past 2 decades, along with the awesome growth of the Community - today counting approximately 15,000 families in the GTA - local branches of the JRCC have opened up throughout the GTA in order to better serve the entire community.
In August 2019 - after spending an additional year learning near the Rebbe's synagogue in Brooklyn NY and continued Rabbinic study in Manhattan NY - Rabbi Avraham and Chaya Mushka moved to the Dufferin and Rutherford area to serve the Concord Community.
